What Do We Do?
The Foundation for Pinckneyville (the Foundation) has three primary roles in its quest to improve the quality of life for members of the Pinckneyville community: (1) to directly and through other charitable organizations improve education, health care, economic, employment and other opportunities; (2) to promote the community and stimulate tourism within the community: and, (3) to assist new and existing charitable organizations with fund raising activities by improving their skills, assisting with state and federal grants and targeted fund raising activities.
The Foundation was formed in 2008 to be a catalyst for implementation of a long term Vision Statement for Pinckneyville and the surrounding areas of Perry County, Illinois. A committee representing diverse areas of interest had developed the Vision Statement [pinckneyvillepartnership.com] over a year and one half period and had vetted the Vision in a series of meetings with community organizations and town hall type meetings. Nine initiatives were identified to helpresidents enjoy a happier and more prosperous future. Some of the initiatives are the responsibility of the Pinckneyville Chamber of Commerce, the Pinckneyville Community High School Board and related foundation or the Pinckneyville Community Hospital Board to implement. The role of the Foundation for Pinckneyville is to -- support those and other organizations; work with the City of Pinckneyville and Perry County governments; stimulate new charitable organizations where appropriate; and, in some cases, work directly to achieve the mission of the Foundation.
What’s Our Mission?
