2018 MASQUERADE PARTY
The 2018 Masquerade Party was held October 26, 2018 Under the Grandstand at the Perry County Fairgrounds and the public was invited. Downstate Music Company provided entertainment. $45,690 was raised from the event and matching donations. The Foundation is currently working on reassessing the Perry County Grandstand/Community Building engineering study done in 2012. Stay tuned for more information!
The Foundation plans two ambitious projects for 2019! The first is to make landscaping adjustments to the green space on the north side of the square to accommodate the new office building and planned relocation of Route 127 to improve traffic flow. The second project is to conduct an engineering and feasibility study to modernize the grandstand and community center at the Fairgrounds/City Park. Both projects involve teamwork and coordination with the City of Pinckneyville.

The Foundation for Pinckneyville’s ninth annual Masquerade Party was held on Friday, October 27th, 2017 at the impressive Illinois Harvest shed east of Pinckneyville and what a successful party it was! The proceeds of the event and a matching donation from The Engelhardt Family Foundation totaled $52,684. This year’s proceeds will go toward the Pinckneyville Downtown Revitalization Project. We hope that the courthouse area of Pinckneyville will be seeing some major changes in the next few years which will be a great improvement for our community. Plans are underway for the 2018 Masquerade Party so check back for more information
The theme for the evening was the same as our local Mardi Gras theme…Dancing in the Streets. The walls were adorned with dancing silhouettes and a “brick” path let the way to the King’s Table. David and Julie (Roe) Lach of Carmel, IN, along with some friends and relatives, occupied The King’s table this year. The King’s Table was situated in a gazebo on a raised stage platform which was beautifully transformed into a quaint park-like setting. Those seated in this place of honor were served a special meal that was sponsored by Red Hawk Golf Course Restaurant. The winning bid for the 2018 King’s Table was, again, made by David and Julie Lach during the live auction.
The dinner was prepared by Buretta’s Bar & Grill in Nashville. The hall was decorated by Kathy Travis, Mary Roe, Bunny Grasso, and Mary Pericolosi with some help and décor from Name Brand Creations and Paulet & Jacob Loos. Guests enjoyed the wide array of items on the silent and live auctions donated by many local friends and businesses. The dessert dash, with its many donated desserts coordinated by Candice Knight, was a great sugary fundraiser. Entertainment was provided by HIGH SOUTH and they were fantastic! Our local Mardi Gras Queen, Haley Johnston, came to judge costumes. There were some very creative costumes this year including the Mardi Gras dancers at the King’s Table, a Mariachi band, Superheroes, Harry Potter’s crew, Cleopatra, Forest Gump and Jenny, TV personalities, Princes with their princesses, lots of hippies, and many more!
OK, it was cold. But it was an enjoyable evening for a good cause that benefitted our community. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we all work together! Thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, and participated! See you next year!

Masquerade Party 2016 Raises
Record Amount for Community
The Foundation for Pinckneyville’s eighth annual Masquerade Party, held in the Illinois Harvest shed east of Pinckneyville, was a great success. The event raised $41,342 to assist with our three community projects: the establishing of a community garden, the resurfacing of the park ball diamonds, and assisting with the Bender Pool upgrades. One supporter, Bill Crawford, gave $10,000 to help us reach our goal. Another generous supporter, the Engelhardt Family Foundation, matched our $41,342 to make our final amount raised $82,684.
Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors! Your generosity helped us put on an elegant party to kick off Mardi Gras in Pinckneyville and to support projects that will make Pinckneyville an even better place to live. All proceeds from our Masquerade Parties go to our selected projects. $25,000 will be given to the Pinckneyville Pool; $5000 will go for the ball diamonds; and the rest will go to the community gardens.

2014 Masquerade Party Recap
The Foundation for Pinckneyville’s 2014 Masquerade Party was a huge success! We are pleased to report that the Sixth Annual Masquerade Party raised over $28,000. These proceeds will be directed toward our goal to fund the building of a bathroom/concession stand at the new Pinckneyville Soccer Fields. This will bring our total contributions to date for the new soccer area to over $50,000. The Illinois Rural Heritage Museum was host to the October event. The night’s activities included hors d’oeuvres, music, costumes, silent auctions, a live auction, beverages, friends and fun!
The mission of the Foundation for Pinckneyville is to make our community a great place to live. We believe that the soccer fields upgrade to the Pinckneyville City Park will be a benefit to Pinckneyville’s youth for years to come. It also brings out-of-town families to Pinckneyville for soccer games. That means more spending in our city’s businesses.
Through the talent of a decorators, Jonathan Reiman and the staff at Murphy-Wall State Bank, the Illinois Rural Heritage Museum was transformed into a haunted gala event. The mood was set with pumpkins, cobwebs, and black and white décor. Many museum items were decorated accordingly.
Grecian Steak and Seafood House provided the dinner with a special spread for the King’s Table. The King's Table was enjoyed this year by Dick & Gayl Pyatt and friends. They enjoyed a special meal including Prime Rib with all the trimmings.
A wide variety of items were generously donated for the silent and live auctions, including a hunting package, a golf and dining package, a shrimp boil party, spa baskets, truckloads of gravel, and Cardinal baseball tickets and many other valuable items and events. The King's Table was a very popular auction item and the honor for 2015 was won by Drs. James R. Douglas Jr. and Melody J. Ritter.
